The Mature Market Resource Center announced the winners of its third annual New Product & Technology Awards® — which recognizes innovative products and services for older adults and their families.

The 2011 competition featured 29 entry categories—20 product, service and technology categories, and 9 web-based or mobile resources. Product, service, and technology entry categories included assistive devices, computer technology/software, fitness/wellness, health products & services, medication management, safety, and more.

Web-based or mobile resource categories included e-newsletters, mobile applications, social media, and websites. Nearly 60 entrants received recognition in the 2011 competition.

The Vesalius Trust for Visual Communications in the Health Sciences has selected Emmi Solutions as the sole recipient of its highest professional award – the Frank H. Netter Award for Special Contributions to Medical Education. This award is given annually to the person or organization whose innovation most effectively demonstrates excellence in visual communication of health information.

The Interactive Media Awards™ recognize the highest standards of excellence in website design and development, and honor individuals and organizations for their outstanding achievement. In 2009, the IMA bestowed its highest honor, the "Best in Class" award, to our Checking Your Blood Sugar program. This marks the fourth time Emmi Solutions has won an IMA award.

Each year the Health and Science Communication Association (H&SCA) holds an interactive media festival to honor leaders in web-based healthcare communications. In June 2009 H&SCA bestowed its Bronze Award for Patient Education on the Taking Warfarin EmmiSafety® program.

For 35 years, the International Health & Medical Media Awards (The FREDDIE Awards) represented the best in health-related documentaries, shorts, videos and websites.
