Martin P. Fox

Mr. Fox has served on our board since 2003 and as co-chair of our board since 2007. Mr. Fox has held a number of senior executive positions in healthcare, including his role as Chief Executive Officer and founder of Home Dialysis of America, Inc. He is currently a Managing Member of Unruh and Fox, an investment partnership specializing in providing capital and operational assistance to startup ventures. He is a Certified Public Accountant and serves as an adjunct faculty member for the Eller College of Business at the University of Arizona. Mr. Fox has served on a number of corporate and non-profit boards, and published numerous articles on various aspects of healthcare management.

Jonathan S. Raclin

Mr. Raclin has served on our board since 2004 and as a co-chair of the board since 2007. Mr. Raclin is a registered Principal of Barrington Research Associates, Inc. He manages The Enterprise Portfolio, a special situation account for high net worth individuals. Mr. Raclin earned a BA degree from St. Lawrence University and an MA degree from Northwestern University. Following service as a commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps, Mr. Raclin was a Partner with William Blair and Company, LLC, and an Executive Vice President and Senior Equity Officer for The Chicago Corporation. Mr. Raclin is a former Regional Chairman of the National Associate of Securities Dealers, a former President of The Bond Club of Chicago and The Attic Club. He is currently a director of The Hospice Foundation, Coastal Georgia Historical Society and certain private corporations.

Ronald Rooth

Mr. Rooth has served as our chief executive officer and member of the board since June of 2007. He joined the company in 2006 and served as chief financial officer prior to becoming the chief executive officer. Mr. Rooth brings extensive experience in finance management and operations experience to Emmi Solutions. Before joining Emmi Solutions, Mr. Rooth served as Chief Financial Officer for Exelon’s Enterprises Division where his responsibilities included operations improvement and the eventual complete wind down of this $2 billion portfolio of businesses. Mr. Rooth also spent time as a contract CFO for infiNET Solutions where he developed financial plans, implemented various financial and business processes and secured funding. He also served in senior finance roles at Searle Pharmaceuticals and Arthur Young & Company (now Ernst & Young). Mr. Rooth is a CPA and earned a B.S. in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Champaign.

Jordan Dolin

Mr. Dolin is a co-founder of the company. He currently serves as Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Client Services, and a member of the board. Mr. Dolin is a seasoned business leader, marketing executive and proven entrepreneur. Mr. Dolin has founded and been on the management team of several startup companies. In 1986, he successfully co-founded and started his own company, which he ran for over 13 years. Before founding Emmi Solutions, Mr. Dolin served as VP of Marketing for Cognitor, a Chicago business analytics software development firm. Mr. Dolin was also the CEO of The Psychographic Design Group. He is a frequent lecturer at the University of Chicago Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and he’s a member of the Economic Club of Chicago. Mr. Dolin earned a B.A. in Advertising from the University of Wisconsin and an M.S. in Marketing & Advertising from Northwestern University.

David Sobel, MD

Dr. Sobel is a co-founder of the company and serves as our chief medical officer and a member of the board. Dr. Sobel has been instrumental in the creation of our products. Having conceived of the concept, the Emmi experience is modeled after Dr. Sobel’s methods of patient communication. In his capacity as Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Sobel assists in overseeing the creation of the Emmi experience, helping to make sure that the end product meets the standards outlined by the company. Dr. Sobel is also a urological surgeon who currently practices at the Dreyer Medical Group. He completed his training at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Prior to that, he received a degree in medicine from the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical School. Dr. Sobel earned a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School, and spent several years as a corporate associate at the New York office of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison. Dr. Sobel also earned a B.G.S. from the University of Michigan.

Ira Chaplik

Mr. Chaplik has served on our board since 2003. He is the Chief Operating Officer of Equity International, the real estate private equity firm that invests in operating companies outside of the United States. Equity International is affiliated with Equity Group Investments, LLC, the privately held investment company founded over 30 years ago by Sam Zell. At Equity Group, Mr. Chaplik was involved in many real estate transactions involving Equity Office Properties Trust (NYSE: EOP), Equity Residential Properties Trust (NYSE: EQR), and Equity Lifestyle Properties (NYSE: ELS), as well as the four Zell/Merrill Lynch funds, which led to the creation of Equity Office Properties Trust. Mr. Chaplik also has been involved in many corporate transactions including the Zell/Chilmark Fund, as well as acquisitions, dispositions and financing of both public and private companies. Before joining Equity Group, Mr. Chaplik was an associate at the law firm of Altheimer & Gray. Mr. Chaplik earned his B.S. in accounting and J.D. from the University of Illinois, in Champaign, Illinois. He also is a Certified Public Accountant.

Richard P. Kiphart

Mr. Kiphart has served on our board since 2006. Mr. Kiphart received his B.A. from Dartmouth College in 1963 and M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1965. He joined William Blair & Company in 1965, served in the U.S. Navy as an Officer aboard a minesweeper during the Vietnam War, and then rejoined William Blair. Mr. Kiphart joined the Institutional Sales Department in 1969. In 1972, he became a General Partner of the firm and was promoted to head of Equity Trading, where he served from 1972 to 1980. He joined the Corporate Finance Department in 1980, and was made head of that department in January 1995. In addition he served as Chairman of Concord EFS, Inc, a NYSE-listed company in the credit card processing industry, which merged with First Data Corporation in 2004. He is President of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the Lyric Opera of Chicago and was Chairman of Merit Music School, which provides free music lessons to over 4,000 inner city children. He also is on the board and is Chairman of the Erikson Institute, a degree granting graduate school and research school specializing in pre-school education and DATA (Debt, AIDS, Trade, Africa). He is on the board of NatureVision Inc. and is Chairman of LIME Energy.

Lawrence Michaelis, MD

Dr. Michaelis has served on our board since 2004 and was a senior advisor to us for several years prior to that. Dr. Michaelis served as the first Chief of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Northwestern University Medical School (NUMS) and Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH), Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice-President of Medical Affairs at NMH and Associate Dean of NUMS. Currently, he is a Tenured Professor of Surgery at NUMS. He has taught US and International healthcare economics for universities and business schools in the U.S. and abroad and has extensive experience as a board member/founder/advisor to a wide variety of private and public healthcare companies in broad arenas of IT, biotech, devices, provider services and investing.

Glenn Trout

Mr. Trout has served on our board since 2007. Mr. Trout is the President and CEO of MSDSonline, a leading provider of on-demand Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) management and compliance products and services for the Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) industry. Mr. Trout has more than 10 years of experience in the rapidly expanding Software as a Service (SaaS) Industry. Prior to his experience at MSDSonline, Mr. Trout worked at Ernst & Young LLP in their Mergers and Acquisitions Advisory Group and at Mead Publishing Paper, where he led sales, marketing and strategic planning efforts and was responsible for more than $350 million in revenues. Prior to joining Mead, Mr. Trout served in the U.S. Air Force as an Air Weapons Controller. Mr. Trout holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and an MBA in Management and Strategy, Marketing and International Business from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Business at Northwestern University.
